The Plan

Ok…Let’s get down to it…I’m not really a “Dear friends” kind of girl. I’m a, “Hey, Let’s get this project (party) started!” kind of girl. I have big plans for my little hell hole!

I will be breaking this project in to 3 phases:
  • Phase 1 - My bedroom, my son Francis’s bedroom, the hall and laundry area, my studio/office and the dining room.
  • Phase 2 - Kitchen and Bathroom – total gut job on the kitchen!
  • Phase 3 - Outdoor Projects – Repair and repaint the shed, create an entertaining area, fix the play center, build a super cool awning at the front door and do some landscaping.
Phase 1 offers me the ability to make the quickest design impact for the least amount of cash outlay! If I don’t hurry up and make something in here beautiful, I’m going to totally lose it!! Plus the doctor (Me) ordered a little…ok… a LOT of art therapy to help me heal!

Phase 2 is going to require more cash and some extra hands….professional hands to get it done. I plan to do as much of the plumbing that I can myself, but hire an electrician for relocating some outlets and lights.

Phase 3 will be just plain fun! I love to entertain, so you’ll see lots of that on the blog, so creating an outdoor space to host parties is going to be enjoyable! For these projects I will call in the troupes’ as I have several close friends and family members that are landscapers and gardeners. So, I’ll host some weekend work/party bees! lol

Thanks for joining me on this journey!

Live beautifully!

Opening Post

Dear friends,

For years my friends and family have been telling me to start a design blog. However, I was always too busy creating a “beautiful life” that I didn't have time to stop and share what I do with others. Recently my “beautiful life” came crashing down around me! I lost it all. In the midst of pain and loss of what I thought was a beautiful relationship…a beautiful family…a beautiful life… I found out a lot about myself. But…that is not what this blog is going to be about…

It is a design blog.

Designed to inspire women that it is vitally important when you suffer a loss such as this, you need now more than ever, to live in a beautiful space. I have always been passionate about people creating their “sanctuary” their “peace of heaven on earth” their “Zen place.”  It is critical to the survival of one’s self mentally and spiritually as the “soul” head of your household to create this environment for you first and then for your children. It is not selfish to create it for yourself first. It is paramount to what lies ahead of you as a parent. It is what will ground you back to reality as to what is most important – creating a “beautiful life!”

For me, creating a beautiful life again is going to be a challenge as I have decided to live somewhere I never thought I’d live, in a community I never dreamed of living in…I’m living in a “trailer” aka “mobile home” in a real live “Trailer Park!”  This really sucks! But, I will prevail!

So, I invite you to join me on a year long journey as I turn my “Trailer Trash” into a “Treasure” aka “Our home!”

Live Beautifully,
